Home – Janine

One Sunday afternoon in late February 2021 Melbourne mum Janine Hendry got angry.

She was angry at the Morrison government’s handling of the Brittany Higgins allegations and then further angered by the allegations that then Attorney General Christian Porter denied. She was angry at the gut wrenching stories of horrific sexual violence in schools.

Janine put out a Tweet asking women to join her to protest at Parliament House in Canberra.

Volunteer leaders around Australia created events in more than 200 towns and cities. 110,000 women and their allies stood up, spoke up and were heard around the world.

We Must Speak to Be Heard

“It has been the honour of my life to stand with so many incredible women and the men who support us. Thank you to everyone who marched, to every volunteer, to everyone who showed support. I am so humbled by the power of many standing as one.”

Help March4Justice to make real change now.

March4Justice has four key objectives. We seek to transform social attitudes so that every person is safe in their homes, their communities and their workplaces; amplify the voices of women in Australia; support safe and fair workplace practices for women; and advocate for systemic change that encourages a society that is built upon equality.

Contributions to March4Justice (Women’s March4Justice Ltd) are used to forward these objectives and to support the holding of events.
